Understanding FightBro Compression Fabrics
As fighters and engineers, the FightBro team is always pushing the edge of innovation when it comes to designing high-performance, high-quality, and aesthetic gear. Compression fabrics are no exception.
When you browse our catalogue, you will find three different fabric types across our rashguard collections: our classic compression fabric, our ColorBlend fabric, and our SilkTec fabric. At first glance, these names may seem confusing, but each material carries unique characteristics worth understanding if you take your performance seriously.
Classic Compression Fabric
Our primary rashguard material is an 88 percent polyester and 12 percent spandex composition, built with true four-way stretch. This is the industry gold standard for combat sports apparel. The four-way elasticity allows the fabric to stretch both vertically and horizontally, which may sound simple but is an important detail in performance fabrics. For grappling, scrambling, bridging, and rotational striking mechanics, unrestricted mobility in every direction matters.
This fabric supports full sublimation printing, meaning any graphic, pattern, or color can be infused into the fibers and remain smooth to the touch. Because sublimation begins on white fabric, extreme stretching may reveal faint white tones underneath, but this only occurs under unusually high tension. For day-to-day training and competition, this material is durable, tightly compressive, moisture-wicking, and dependable. It is the trusted foundation for most athletes and gyms because it strikes the optimal balance between performance and versatility.

ColorBlend Fabric
Our ColorBlend series uses a 90 percent polyester and 10 percent spandex blend. While the composition is similar, the design and functionality are distinct. ColorBlend begins with a dyed base color rather than a white base fabric. This allows the garment to preserve color integrity under stretch, creating a uniform visual finish without white peeking through. For athletes who appreciate clean aesthetics, this matters.
Because of the dyed base, sublimation printing is limited to darker overlays, most commonly black. Attempting to print lighter shades would disrupt the base tone. Instead of being a limitation, this creates sophisticated design opportunities. The result is a smooth surface, richer hand feel, and elevated look on the mats. It is a performance fabric with a premium visual character, ideal for athletes who want gear that not only performs but also looks refined in motion.
An example of this is our ColorBlend Rashguard series, taking inspiration from ink wash paintings to apply to the unique printing style that this fabric provides.

SilkTec Fabric
SilkTec represents our highest tier in comfort and feel. This fabric uses an 80 percent nylon and 20 percent spandex blend engineered to create a smooth, almost liquid texture against the skin. It delivers the most natural and friction-free sensation of any rashguard fabric we have tested. Despite the silk-like finish, SilkTec maintains the compression, durability, and snap-back stretch required for intense grappling and striking work.
Sublimation printing is not compatible with this fabric due to nylon’s lower heat resistance. Rather than compromise fiber integrity, SilkTec garments are produced in solid colors or with heat-pressed minimal graphics. It is an intentional choice that preserves performance. This fabric exists for the athlete who values comfort, subtlety, and a premium wearing experience without sacrificing strength.

In Summary
All three fabrics serve distinct purposes. The classic compression fabric offers bold design freedom and reliable structure. ColorBlend elevates aesthetic sophistication while maintaining stretch and function. SilkTec prioritizes comfort and smoothness for the most refined feel on the mat. None is better than the others in absolute terms. They are tools, and knowing when and why to choose each one will help you perform and feel your best.
FightBro’s design philosophy is rooted in the athlete experience. Whether you are drilling technique, grinding through sparring rounds, or stepping into competition, your equipment should match your intent. We engineer each material to serve a purpose, and we take pride in giving fighters options that reflect different needs, preferences, and styles.
